Hello, world — but make it maintainable.
This site begins with a deliberately unremarkable technical foundation: static files, a tiny web server, and an immutable container.
That is not a compromise. For a personal notebook, the code should stay out of the writing’s way. There is no database to back up, admin panel to protect, plugin ecosystem to audit, or framework release cycle to chase.
The whole runtime
The public artifact is a small container containing the site files and a static HTTP server. The reverse proxy handles certificates and edge policy. The container itself runs without root privileges, exposes no host port, and keeps no writable application state.
Complexity is sometimes necessary. It should never be the admission price for publishing a paragraph.
Changes are still disciplined
Simple does not mean hand-edited in production. Changes are committed to Git, checked, built into a versioned image, and deployed through GitOps. The result is easy to reproduce and equally easy to roll back.
There will be more here soon: field notes, project records, and longer explanations of things worth understanding twice.
